Bogale, born into a coffee-farming family, became known as a local “breeder,” refining his 3.39 hectare farm with Kurume and 74110 while advising others on varietal selection. Breaking tradition, he invested his income in his children’s education, with his eldest son now a university lecturer in plant breeding. Though among the oldest farmers in the area, Bogale remains active, with his children helping to carry on the farm’s legacy of specialty coffee.
