Juan Vicente Montoya is a small-scale coffee producer whose family relies entirely on coffee for their livelihood. Located high in the mountains of the Intibucá region, we have been proudly visiting, supporting Juan and purchasing from La Falda since 2016. Juan grows Lempira, Catuai, and more recently, Bourbon varietals. He is deeply committed to environmentally conscious farming, applying minimal chemicals, fertilising twice a year, monitoring closely for leaf rust, composting with coffee pulp, and using native shade trees to nurture healthy coffee plants.
