The Gisanga Washing Station resides in the beautiful mountain range of the Congo- Nile Divide. The fertile land is full of clay and sandy soils, and the cool humidity results in the absolute perfect growing and processing conditions for red bourbon coffee trees. Gisanga is owned by the Tropic Coffee Company who work with more than 850 coffee producers and undertake training with local farmers to ensure harvesting of bourbon trees have the best chance in resulting in high quality specialty green beans. This company has also established several initiatives to support environmental protection, waste water treatment, and women producer groups.
